The Cycladic island of Mykonos is known for its vibrant nightlife, exquisite beaches, and quintessential Greek architecture. Windmills and stark white abodes decorate this adorable Island.  In the 11th century BC Ionians settled on the Island and it became a crucial place of transit. While today Mykonos is known for its flourishing tourism industry, in antiquity the island was rather unremarkable with only two towns and limited resources.
