Greek Salad

Greek Salad

What better dish for our first lunch in Athens? We stopped by an adorable family owned restaurant, we could hear the woman chopping the vegetables in the kitchen. Everything was incredibly fresh and delicious and very reasonably priced.

Creme Brule

Creme Brule

We enjoyed this delicious creme brûlée at a rooftop restaurant that overlooks the Acropolis. Although Greece is known for its traditional dishes, I am continually impressed by the variety of cuisines available here!

One of the first beverages we enjoyed in Athens. There's nothing quite as refreshing on a hot Greek day as this crisp and light sparkling lemonade.

Gyro at Savvas

Gyro at Savvas

Describes by gyro aficionado, Professor Phillips, as the best gyros in Greece, Savvas did not disappoint. Be sure to stop by Savvas when in Athens. Gyros are a great option for vegetarians, they are very inexpensive so simply ask them to substitute meat for extra veggies.

Spinach pie and tiropita (cheese pie) were excellent, common, and inexpensive. You can find these delectable creations at virtually every Greek restaurant and they are generally no more than 3 Euros!
